The Sun Has Set On Crankworx Rotorua Day One

After waiting for what felt like far too long for the final stop of the 2021 Crankworx World Tour to take flight, Crankworx Rotorua has arrived.

Bringing with it an extremely talented roster of athletes, world-renowned trail riding, and picture perfect views, Crankworx Rotorua is set to be quite the event… closing out what has been an already incredible season.

Day one was no exception to our high expectations with its first of many trail rides, practice sessions, and engagements with the local community.

From the Crankworx Team working hard on the trails to the Slopestyle crew checking out the course ahead of this weekend’s big event to the opening ceremony honouring the local community’s spirit, Crankworx Rotorua day one was a highlight reel.

Just take a look at everything that went down on site before the sun set…

The amazing trail building teams were hard at work all day making sure that everything was ready for the athletes.
Which view is better… the course or the landscape?
The opening ceremony for Crankworx Rotorua reminded us of why we’re all here.
Remembering the good and the importance of keeping on during difficult times.
What a special week this is going to be… and we’re already off to an amazing start.
Griffin Paulson and Marcel Hunt taking it all in during the first Slopestyle practice session.

Max Fredriksson and Tomas Lemoine opting for a seriously fun dual Slopestyle run.

It’s going to be hard to top that opening, but with Slopestyle, Speed & Style, Downhill, and Pump Track training all within today’s schedule, it just might be a possibility…
