Get Ready – Crankworx Whistler Kicks Off Tomorrow

Whistler Bike Park opens its gates tomorrow for the 2026 edition of Crankworx Whistler, the flagship stop on the Crankworx World Tour and the biggest mountain bike party on the planet. For ten days, the world’s top Slopestyle, Downhill, Dual Slalom, and Enduro athletes descend on Whistler alongside thousands of fans who come simply to watch, and there’s no better place to do it. 

Crankworx has always been a spectator’s festival first. All events are free to watch trailside, with the kind of up-close access to elite athletes that most sports can’t offer – you can stand at an arm’s length from the world’s best dropping into a course, or watch a Slopestyle run unfold from the base of the course. Bring the whole crew: there’s programming for hardcore racing fans, first-time visitors, and families alike. While general access is free, VIP experiences are available for the Specialized Canadian Open DH (July 31) and Rhapsody Slopestyle (August 2) – unmatched viewing areas, snacks & refreshments included. Confirmed Athletes: A Stacked Field Tackes on Whistler 

For the Specialized Canadian Open DH, athletes from across the globe and the local Sea-to-Sky region make for one of the tightest Downhill fields Crankworx has ever assembled, all racing the iconic 1199 track. Returning with a new name as the hallmark event of this festival, the Rhapsody Slopestyle will not only see a course offering bigger features than ever before, but also a stellar line-up of athletes competing for their last chance to qualify for the Slopestyle Super League Playoffs:

But Crankworx Whistler is much more than these two events. The Canadian Open Enduro kicks things off this weekend before we move into more Downhill action at the Air DH and OG CDN OPN DH. NEW: Crabapple Hits World Championship Closes Out The Week 

The newest addition to the Crankworx Whistler lineup, the Crabapple Hits World Championships, caps off festival week on Sunday, August 2. This Freeride-first competition will have invited riders throw down their biggest and most creative tricks on every feature of the line. No brackets, no judges – just a rider-judged, winner-takes-all jam session where creativity reigns. Every feature on Crabapple Hits is in play, and after the two-hour session, the riders themselves decide who takes home the titles. Confirmed athletes so far include:

Bosch eMTB Challenge Returns 

The Bosch eMTB Challenge is back and is the best way to become part of Crankworx Whistler as a rider, not just a spectator. Riders compete solo across three categories — Amateur (5 stages), Advanced (6 stages), and Pro (7 stages) — tackling a course through Whistler Mountain Bike Park and the surrounding Valley Trails with 1,200–1,800m of elevation gain. The route isn’t revealed until the night before the race, blending timed stages that demand speed and smart battery management with technical “no-feet” climbs where balance is everything. Spots are available online, and every registered rider gets exclusive access to the Specialized Canadian Open DH VIP area, plus a food and drink voucher. Registration is open online
