The Crankworx World Tour Finale Lands in Mont-Sainte-Anne 

The Crankworx World Tour is about to roll into Mont-Sainte-Anne for the final stop of the season – and this one’s not like the others. 

September 3-7 marks the first iteration of the much-anticipated Crankworx Mont-Sainte-Anne festival at a place that’s been part of gravity mountain biking’s DNA for decades. It’s fitting, then, that this is also where the sport pushes forward: the first-ever Slopestyle Super League (SSL) Finals happen here, alongside a full events line-up that spans across eight disciplines and – of course – lots of parties celebrating the community. 

Fans and athletes can expect the full Crankworx spread: Downhill, the SSL Finals, Dual Slalom, the first North American Whip-Off World Championships presented by RAG, an Air DH presented by Velosolutions Canada on a brand-new legacy course, XCO/XCC, Pump Track, Kidsworx, and plenty more packed into five days. New venue, new events, same energy. If you’ve been to a Crankworx before, you know what that means. If youhaven’t, Mont-Sainte-Anne is a pretty spectacular place to start.

Slopestyle Super League Finals

This is the competition top Slopestyle athletes have been building toward all year, and it’s happening for the first time ever. The field is loaded. Alma Wiggberg, Johanna Nussbaumer, David Godziek, Erik Fedko, Nicholi Rogatkin, and Playoffs winner Ben Thompson are just a handful of the names lining up to headline it on a course bearing the signature of pro rider and course builder Matt MacDuff. Downhill Sunday Coming in Hot 

Downhill has always been a core of the Crankworx World Tour, and Mont-Sainte-Anne’s track is built for exactly that: long, rowdy, and one of the most notorious on the calendar. 

In addition to HC category points (UCI) and being the Canada Cup finals, there’s a title on the line, too. Luke Meier-Smith has already locked up the men’s Crankworx DH Series, so this one’s more about legacy runs than suspense on that side – though brothers Tegan and Lucas Cruz, Ryan Gilchrist, Dane Jewett, and Tristan Lemire will still be racing to leave their mark. The women’s race is a different story: both the Queen of Crankworx crown and DH Series championship are still up for grabs, with reigning DH champion Mille Johnset headlining a field that includes Charlie Bernard, Isla O’Connor, Taylor Ostgaard, and Tayte Proulx-Royds – the reigning Junior Canadian DH champion, racing with home support behind her. 

Nothing beats being trackside for Downhill, but if you can’t make it, tune into the live broadcast on Sunday, September 6 at 3 PM (EDT). 

And That’s Not All 

Beyond the athletes listed above, keep an eye out for the riders ripping down the newly built Air DH track – the first of its kind in the province of Québec, a new permanent Dual Slalom course built for tight head-to-head action, and airtime at the North American Whip-Off Championships presented by RAG. Still chasing King & Queen of Crankworx points across categories all week will be Daniel Butterworth, Niels Bensink, Bas Van Steenbergen, who, on top of racing, helped build several of the courses you’ll see this week, Martha Gill, and Jordy Scott among them. This is what makes a Crankworx week different from a single race: there’s always another category, another heat, another rider putting it on the line.
