First Aid Program
In 2026 we are super excited to be offering a hands-on learning opportunity for our Senior students! We’re partnering with the team at Peak Safety to deliver a First Aid Program.
This is an event first for us, we’re keen to expand opportunities for students to learn via more than just written words and talking adults! With that comes a hybrid approach to a First Aid Qualification that will allow students to obtain NCEA credits through online and practical sessions.
COST:
Free of charge to all participating students (includes event entry and professional training to achieve this qualification), thanks to our partners at Peak Safety!
COURSE DETAILS:
Join the Peak Safety Training team to learn essential First Aid skills required to respond to emergencies you may encounter during your outdoor adventures. You’ll become proficient at emergency response skills including Outdoor Accident Site Management and Leadership, Advanced Patient Assessment, CPR and Defibrillation, Managing Spinal Patients, Fractures and Dislocations, Wounds and Bleeding, Medical Emergencies and loads more. Successful participants will earn a First Aid certificate valid for 2 years for workplace purposes and unit standards 6400 (if students have already completed 6401+6402), 6401 and 6402 (if students are new to the First Aid scene).
LEARNING REQUIREMENTS:
These Unit Standards require a combination of classroom learning time and onsite/hands on learning time, our friends at Peak Safety require 4 hours of the course to be completed online via their training program BEFORE students arrive at Crankworx for the 4-hour onsite learning portion.
We will provide the online learning platform (and any other resources required) to you/your students – the way we see it, you can guarantee 4 hours of classwork are taken care of in early 2026!
AVAILABILITY:
This is a pilot program and has limited spaces available. Each 4-hour onsite session with Peak Safety has space for up to 18 students. There are 3 of these sessions available during the event week at the following times:
Session 1 – Wednesday 11th March 2026 – 9:00am to 1:00pm – FULLY BOOKED
Session 3 – Friday 13th March 2026 – 9:00am to 1:00pm – FULLY BOOKED
We will do our best to accommodate students of the same class/school together, however where there is availability, we will potentially combine multiple schools and/or students together to maximise learning benefits for all possible students.
Bookings will operate on a first come, first served basis – once the program is fully booked, we will create a waitlist in case we have withdrawals. We encourage expressions of interest first to ensure that the program is right for you and your students.
