Race Format & Categories
Individual Categories
- Fastest Combined Timed Run(Individual Only)
- Riders’ fastest South Side lap + fastest North Side lap = overall individual time.
- Awards given to top 3 in each age category.
Team Categories Teams consist of three riders, with at least one female, and results are based on:
- Fastest Team Category
- Each team’s fastest South Side lap + fastest North Side lap (from each individual team member) = overall team time.
- Most Laps Category
- The total number of laps a team completes is based on the lowest number of laps completed by any team member.
- Example: If one team member completes 20 laps, another 10 laps, and the third 5 laps, the team’s official total is 5 laps per rider = 15 laps total.
Additional Recognition
- Spot prize: Awarded to the individual who completes the most laps in the day, regardless of whether they are in a team.
Timing & Results
- Riders start their runs by moving across a timing mat or impulse sensor at the top of the course.
- The race time stops when they cross the finish impulse at the bottom.
- Each rider has their own individual timing chip.
- Teams do not transfer a chip—each member rides independently, and their results contribute to team standings.
Live Timing & Results Posting
- Live timing may be available (to be confirmed).
- Official results will be published on Crankworx.com after the race.
- Protests: Any protests on results must be made within 15 minutes of results being posted.
Gondola & Course Rules
- Only gondola uplift is permitted—riders cannot pedal up the access road.
- Gondola wait times do not impact fastest lap results, but they do limit total laps completed.
Strategic Considerations for Teams
- Riders do not have to wait for teammates before riding—they can complete laps independently.
- Teams can choose their own strategy, but laps are still individually timed.
Safety & Medical Coverage
- Skyline Bike Patrol will provide emergency medical services.
- If a rider is injured:
- Others should prioritize their own safety first.
- Call out to the fallen rider to assess if assistance is needed.
- If necessary, send the next rider down to notify a medical marshal.
Code of Conduct & Penalties
- Unsportsmanlike behavior, reckless riding, or abusing other riders or officials may result in disqualification.
- Cheating (e.g., course cutting) will result in removal of that run from the standings.
- Disqualification is at the discretion of the Race Manager.
Weather & Event Modifications
- The race organizer will attempt to postpone the event in case of inclement weather, if the schedule allows.
- If the event is canceled, riders will receive either a full refund or credit toward future races.
