Official Statement – RockShox Canadian Open Downhill
Due to unfavourable weather conditions preventing helicopter access for athlete safety, the RockShox Canadian Open Downhill Group A finals on the legendary 1199 track have been cancelled.
A helicopter is a critical safety requirement for this event to ensure athlete extraction if needed. After initially moving Group A finals from Friday, August 15, to Saturday, August 16, the difficult decision was made to cancel the race.
Group B finals were held earlier this week, and full results are available here: www.crankworx.com/results/
As we wrap up the 20th edition of Crankworx Whistler, the final day of the festival brings two marquee events:
- Red Bull Joyride
- Outdoor Research Ultimate Pump Track Challenge presented by RockShox
Fans can catch these events on site or watch live on Red Bull TV.
We thank all athletes, fans, and partners for their understanding and support as we continue to prioritise safety while celebrating the best of mountain biking.
