Crankworx Cairns Presents Party in Paradise: Elevating the Aussie Mountain Biking Scene

Crankworx Cairns is the ultimate celebration of Australian mountain biking culture and coined as the Paradise Edition of the Crankworx World Tour. Taking place from 22 – 26 May 2024, the international event is gearing up to redefine adventure sports with the unveiling of its Party in Paradise. This dynamic addition promises an explosion of entertainment, marking an exhilarating evolution for the festival.

Rocking Out With Australian Legends

Spectators will rock alongside the mountain biking action, as the Party in Paradise morphs into a festival that everyone can enjoy, as it welcomes an extraordinary lineup of Australia’s best rock bands. Being delivered in partnership with Queensland Music Festival (QMF), the music event will see iconic Aussie rockers Spiderbait ignite the stage on Sunday, 26 May, syncing their performance with the adrenaline-charged Slopestyle event. Friday night will see the Beddy Rays set the tone for an unforgettable evening. If that’s not enough Queensland bands Worm Girlz and Late November are in the festival line-up, along with other local talent and DJ sets scheduled throughout the festival. The party spirit will be in full swing at Crankworx Cairns.

The legendary Aussie rock band Spiderbait is only one of many to perform at the Crankworx Cairns Party in Paradise.

Nathan Bassett, Crankworx Cairns Event Director said “Crankworx Cairns is one of the most loved Mountain Bike events on the Australian and International calendar, so to bring together the world’s best Mountain bikers and Australia’s best music to the stage in Smithfield is going to be very special. This Party in Paradise also brings a whole new audience to the event, and we want to further grow that opportunity this year and create a festival for everyone.”

In addition to the live music, Crankworx Cairns offers a myriad of activities to keep the adrenaline pumping. For the first time in Crankworx history, attendees can marvel as athletes showcase their skills against the stunning backdrop of Cairns’ waterfront during the Mountainbike Street Jam Session held at Cairns Skatepark on the Esplanade, a free event to attend for all. Back at Smithfield, bikers will defy gravity with jaw-dropping aerial stunts at fan favourite Whip-Off competition, which enters the schedule for Party Saturday, alongside the Pump Track After Dark which will finish off an epic Party Saturday. To top it all off, Braap Off will enter the schedule and finally fans can settle in for a cinematic experience under the open sky during the Red Bull Movie Night.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, Party in Paradise is set to unite riders, enthusiasts, and locals for an unmissable experience. QMF CEO, Daryl Raven, adds “We are committed to co-creating iconic music events that celebrate Queensland’s diversity and foster a sense of place, so this collaborative partnership is not only a great fit for us, but also a bucket-list worthy one.”
