Sustainability

Since environmental protection is a key priority for us, Mouvement Production Quebec has adopted a sustainable development policy.

We are proud to announce that Crankworx Mont-Sainte-Anne 2026 has been awarded ECO GOLD certification by the Fédération québécoise des sports cyclistes (FQSC). This certification attests to our commitment to eco-friendly practices, particularly in waste management, the use of eco-friendly products, and the reduction of our carbon footprint.

We are also pleased to have Desjardins as our official partner for the eco-responsibility and active health initiatives. Their support enables us to implement initiatives that contribute to the preservation of our environment, while encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle.

We recognize the importance of preserving the environment and contributing to the well-being of local communities, and we are therefore committed to :

Supporting Local Businesses

Hosting a major event like Crankworx not only has a significant impact on the region’s tourism profile but also generates substantial economic benefits for all businesses in the Côte-de-Beaupré and Québec City areas.

Mouvement Production Québec has chosen to collaborate with local suppliers, particularly for all needs related to the event’s production. The selected suppliers contribute to our sustainability goals through their eco-responsible values and their adherence to the required eco-responsibility standards.

Reducing Our Environmental Footprint at the Source

Waste management remains a major challenge, particularly in relation to food service. Here are the steps we’re taking:

Meals for athletes, volunteers, and staff

Food court open to the general public

Water station

Green Brigade

Reuse of signage

Promoting healthy lifestyles

The Crankworx festival is also a participatory event open to amateur athletes of all ages. The organizers are therefore proud to present a variety of sports activities accessible to everyone throughout the event, including amateur competitions in Dual Slalom, Air DH, DH, XC, and Pump Track, as well as a program of partner activations in the Exhibitors’ Village.

Protection of Sensitive Environments

The design of the various competition courses takes into account the fragility of the environment and the ecosystem, in order to protect the environment and prevent damage to the area.

Inclusivity and Accessibility

We have designed the site to be accessible to people with disabilities. The areas near the courses (including some competition start and finish lines), access to the podiums, the exhibitors’ village, the food court, and the facilities are accessible to everyone. Adapted restroom facilities will also be available on site.

With the goal of properly welcoming everyone who wishes to lend a hand to the organization by volunteering or working as staff, all our communications with volunteers will be inclusive.

Transportation

Organized Carpooling for Volunteers

Our volunteer management team coordinates all carpooling needs among our volunteers to make it easier to get to the site. Bike parking is also available for volunteers and staff. Keep this in mind and find out more!

Shuttles and Bike Parking

Visitors can also do their part by using the shuttle service or their bikes! A bike parking area will be set up at the main entrance. Say goodbye to searching for parking and long walks—you’ll enjoy direct access to the site.

Sustainable approach to Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is a holistic vision that combines environmental protection, respect for communities, and broader socio-economic impacts.

Since its founding in 2023, the Mouvement Production Québec team has worked closely with the Mont-Sainte-Anne team, local businesses, and the community to draw inspiration from and implement sustainable suggestions and solutions.

Any changes to the course or creation of new facilities are designed with the community’s long-term benefit in mind, to support other sporting events and mountain bike clubs in the region. Collaboration with these entities is also valued, particularly through the loan of equipment and the sharing of resources with the community.
