Patricia Druwen Takes On First-Ever Crankworx FMBA Women’s Slopestyle World Championship Event

Update March 24 – Patricia Druwen had to withdraw from the event due to health reasons

All eyes are on Maxxis Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza at Crankworx Rotorua as women prepare to compete in the first-ever Crankworx FMBA Women’s Slopestyle World Championship event. Last to drop on Sunday will be Patricia Druwen, the up-and-comer who took home the 2023 Red Bull Rookie of the Year Award. At just 17 years old, she’s already shaking up the Slopestyle scene with her bold tricks and eagerness to compete.

Taking us into her world, the Maxxis rider shared some insights on her training schedule ahead of the big event. Having been in Queenstown, New Zealand in the lead-up to Crankworx Rotorua, Druwen has been riding on the daily and perfecting tricks like flip bars, flip double bars, and flip bar tops. Ready to give it her all this season, she’s been hitting trick jumps, having airbag sessions, and tackling some of the bigger jumps with the support of other riders in town.

Despite feeling a bit under the weather in the week leading up to Maxxis Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza, Druwen is determined to tackle the FMB Diamond Level course and bounce back stronger before the event kicks off. With determination and a solid tire choice, Patricia’s being the Maxxis DTH on the front and rear, she’s feeling ready to take on the first-ever Crankworx FMBA Women’s Slopestyle World Championship event.

With her ultimate goal for the season being “to have a blast on the bike and send it on the massive jumps,” Druwen is making every moment count. Don’t miss one of the biggest moments when the young rider drops in on the Maxxis Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza course March 24 at 10:30 am NZDT.
