Educate Program

The Educate Program will allow students of all ages to take a peek behind the scenes of Crankworx Rotorua and learn!

All of the resources outlined below (Scavenger Hunt and NCEA Achievement Standards) will be available in Te Reo Maori in 2024

Primary and Intermediate Students (Year 1 to Year 8):

Primary and Intermediate students can enjoy an interactive Scavenger Hunt around the site or remotely through our interactive app (available to pre-access from early March 2024).

Please note, the interactive app will be available at no cost for students both onsite and remotely.

Secondary Students (Year 9 to Year 13):

Senior students will be able to gain credits in NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 Achievement Standards in the following standards:

Physical Education:

Level 2 – AS 91502 – Examine a current physical activity event, trend, or issue and its impact on New Zealand society.

Level 3 – AS 91331 – Examine the significance for self, others and society of a sporting event, a physical activity, or a festival.

Geography:

Level 3 – AS 91428 – Analyse a significant contemporary event from a geographic perspective

School talks on the above Achievement Standards will be available onsite hourly from 10:00am – 3:00pm on Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd March 2024 – these must be pre-booked and will be available on a first-come, first- served basis.

Please note: For Secondary Schools that are unable to attend Crankworx in person in March 2024, we are able to provide resource packs for the above assessments at no charge – please email rotorua@crankworx.com for more information on this!

Cost of Attendance

There is NO COST for Teachers, Support Staff and Students to visit Crankworx Rotorua in March 2024* – that’s right, it’s free!

*For Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st or Friday 22nd March 2024 only.
