Access to Lifts
Lifts may be busier than usual during Crankworx. With this in mind, the following lifts will be opening early: 9:30 for Fitz for bikers and 8:30 for sightseers on the Whistler Village Gondola.
The best way to avoid the crowds and still take in all of the action is to start and finish your day at Creekside.
Access is available for bikers and sightseers via the Creekside Gondola: 10:00 – 7:00pm for bikers and 10:00 – 5:00pm for sightseers.
Red Chair is also running so Creekside provides access to the Roundhouse Lodge elevation for both bikers and sightseers.
The Whistler Bike Park has opened five new amazing trails in the area from some of the best intermediate flow trails anywhere to black diamond tech trails.
There is ample free, convenient parking in the area, which also helps you avoid the traffic congestion throughout the village.
Everything you need is there: Canski Bike Shop, Guest Relations, Starbucks and Dusty’s.
If you want to ride more and wait less, Creekside is the place for you!
Get the most up-to-date information on Whistler Blackcomb’s Terrain and Lift Status page!
Spectator Viewing Areas
Want to watch all the action go down at the CamelBak Canadian Open Enduro presented by Specialized on Sunday, August 12? Here are some of the best places to get amongst it as the Enduro World Series comes to Whistler!
Stage 1: Micro Climate and Stage 2: Crazy Train
By starting in Blackcomb’s Upper Village, walk or ride up the footpath that fronts the slope side condos until reaching the Blackcomb access road. From there pass through the red gate and down to the exit of Crazy Train and Micro Climate. There you can heckle, shout and cheer as riders come shooting out of the forest to the finish line of stages 1 and 2.
Stage 3: Delayed Fuse -> B.C.
From the top of the Creekside Gondola Bike Park riders can take Crossroads Trail to South Park (flow trail) and watch racers rip through Delayed Fuse, one of Creekside’s newest tech trail additions for 2018. South Park will directly intersect with Delayed Fuse so please be mindful of trail closures and racers.
Stage 4: Heavy Flow -> Hind Sight ->Tunnel Vision
Leave your car in Creekside as there is very restricted parking in the Bay Shores area of Whistler. After turning into the main entrance of Bay Shores take a right onto Cheakamus Way. Next, take a left onto Kadenwood Drive, climb up the road .5k until the dirt access road appears on the right hand side. This dirt access road will change into Tunnel Vision, taking you directly up to the finish of stage 4.
Stage 5: Top of the World -> No Joke ->Drop in Clinic -> No Joke -> Little Alder -> Expressway -> Too Tight -> Upper & Lower Angry Pirate -> Samurai Pizza Cat -> Afternoon Delight -> Longhorn -> Monkey Hands
Spectators can view the final stage in three areas. First, they can access the Peak Chair on foot before racers come through and scope out on of the most jaw-dropping race starts on the planet by walking down to the entrance of the Top Of The World Chair. Be mindful that spectators will not be able to download Peak Chair once racers arrive and should anticipate watching the entire portion of that stage on the Peak or hike down the Pikas/Matthews traverse to the Roundhouse Lodge.
The second viewing access will be via the Whistler Mountain Bike Park’s Garbo and Fitz Zones. Spectators are limited in that they are only able to upload the Creekside Gondola and watch racers in the Garbo Zone as they blast past on No Joke but Bike Park riders will be able to view from Seven Year War, non-race sections of Freight Train, outside the race tape on Expressway and the top of Fitzsimons Express. Please be careful not to block or interfere with other riders and racers as these trails are heavily trafficked.
The final area – and arguably the best vibe will be watching from the finish corral in Whistler’s Skiers’ Plaza. The GLC provides an awesome deck side view with drinks and appies or opt to watch down in the thick of the action near the Fitzsimons chair lift line.
Access to today’s Whip-Off will be walking up the hill to Crabapple hits. Please follow the crowd control on site!
