Kidsworx Whistler Athlete Information

Registration

Online registration will open on Tuesday May 9th 2023 at 10:00 PDT
Registration Deadline: Tuesday July 18th 2023 at 23:59 PDT (unless race sells out in advance)
There will be no onsite registration for race events.
To register, please login into the Crankworx Registration Platform

Create a parent/guardian ‘Athlete Profile’ THEN scroll to the bottom of the completed profile page and click ADD in the section marked “Manage Additional Athletes”.

Please add your child/s details here and use this profile for registration in events.

ALL events are based on Year of Birth, ie. your child’s age on 31 December 2023, NOT age at date of race.

The account and athlete profile will be used for all Crankworx festivals and events moving forward. Only one account and profile is required. Once an athlete profile is created, competitors can register for races through their profile.

Check in and Plate Pick Up

The same race plate will be used for all Kidsworx Events.

Plate Pick up will be only during Kidsworx Registration Hours and not during Athlete Registration Hours at the AAVA hotel.

Cancellation Policy

Entry fees are refundable (less processing fee) providing cancellation notice is received in writing to athletes@crankworx.com by the registration deadline. Registration deadline is July 18th at 23:59 PDT. All entries are non-refundable or transferable after the registration deadline (even in the case of injury or mechanical problems).

Competitors who need to withdraw after the registration deadline should email kidsworx@crankworx.com to confirm their withdrawal otherwise they will appear on the start list as a DNS.

Race Category Eligibility

Athletes are eligible to register in one category based on age and gender for all Kidsworx events. Please see Kidsworx Events Descriptions for each event and relevant categories. Athletes will register in the same category for all Kidsworx events.

Kidsworx Enduro and B-Line Athletes born 2015-2016 (Aged 7- 8 years) will be required to provide information relating to coaching and downhill experience at time of registration.  This is safety requirement for competition in the Bike Park.

Protection Requirements

Full-face helmets and gloves are required for the following Kidsworx events: 

  • Enduro 
  • B-Line DH

Elbow and Knee protection are required for Enduro and B-Line DH.  

FAQs

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO ENTER?
All Kidsworx events are based on Year of Birth, not age at race. Minimum age is 7 years old (year of birth 2016) for Downhill events – Enduro and B-Line.

*** Even if your child is the shreddiest shredder on the planet, this is a safety requirement we are unable to bypass. ***

The Invitational category for the Crankworx Air DH is for advanced shredders (born 2011-2012) with relevant DH experience on large jump trails in a race format. Shredders must submit a rider bio with videos, social media (if available) and coaching referrals to be considered for an invitation. Submissions must be sent to carly@crankworx.com before June 30. Limited spots available.


Please refer to the Crankworx programming for athletes aged 13 years (Born 2009) and older.

DO I NEED A LIFT TICKET?
Races within the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will require a lift ticket or pass. Whistler Mountain Bike Park tickets/passes are not included in the registration/entry fees. Crankworx specific Training Day and Race Day passes will be available from Kidsworx Athlete Registration. Multiday passes will be available from Whistler Blackcomb.

Information related to pricing and lift ticket types will be announced closer to competition to allow you to choose the best products for your Crankworx event and non-event Bike Park days.

DO RACERS GET LIFT LINE PRIORITY?
Competitors registered in races that take place within Whistler Mountain Bike Park, along with 1 parent or guardian will have priority loading on the Fitzsimmons Chair on race day only. There will be no lift line priority on training days.

WHERE DO I PICK UP MY RACE PLATE?
Race Plate pick up and lift ticket purchase times will be scheduled closer to the Festival.  A parent or guardian over the age of 18 will need to attend plate pick up to complete the Crankworx waiver. 1 race plate will be assigned to each athlete.  If you are competing in multiple events on different bikes, please collect extra zap straps when you come to plate pick up.

WHERE CAN I FIND OUT THE COURSE DETAILS    
Course information will be confirmed in the coming weeks.  The Enduro and B-Line events will take place in the Whistler Bike Park, Dirt Pump Track will be at Base 2 in the Tube Park area on Blackcomb.  Course maps will be added to event descriptions once courses are confirmed.

HOW DO I GET TO THE START OF THE RACE?
Athletes 12 and under will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the start of each event within the Whistler Bike Park. 

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT TIME I’LL BE RACING?
Event times are posted on the event schedule. The start list will be posted online HERE the evening prior to the event.

Medical Services / First Aid Management

First aid personnel will be available during training sessions and competition.

Concussion is a specific area for focus in mountain biking. Insurance

Travel, medical and liability insurance is recommended when travelling and competing at any Crankworx World Tour events. Insurance coverage is not provided by Crankworx Whistler.

Image Release

As a condition of my participation in Crankworx Whistler, I hereby unconditionally and irrevocably consent, authorize and grant Crankworx Events Inc. (“CEI”), the event organizers of each event, and their respective affiliates, sponsors, promoters, advertisers, broadcasters, webcasters, contractors, agents, representatives, licensees and assigns (together, the “Releasees”) all the necessary authority, right and license and permission to use photographs, audio or video recordings, or other forms of recordings that capture my image, likeness, voice or performance (or all of these) (collectively hereinafter referred to as “Images”), in which I may be included in whole or in part, in any manner or media, including print, broadcast, internet media, direct marketing channels, downloadable content and applications, and all other technologies now known or hereafter developed. I acknowledge that drones may be used in capturing these images and accept that they may be flying above me. The Images may be used or exploited for any commercial or non-commercial purpose whatsoever, and may be altered, modified, changed, combined or incorporated into other works I hereby relinquish any rights I may have in the Images (including privacy, personality and publicity rights. In no event shall I seek or be entitled to injunctive or other equitable relief in connection with the use of the Images. No fees or other compensation whatsoever will be provided to me for or in connection with the use of the Images.
