How old does my kid have to be to enter a race event?
For all competitions, your child must be the minimum age by December 31, 2019. (i.e. for the 7-8 year old category, any child who is 7 or turning 7 by the end of the year, meaning they are born in 2011, meets the minimum age to compete)

How do I register for a Kidsworx event?

  • Kidsworx Enduro, B-Line Race, Dirt Pump Track Challenge, Village Crit, BMX, and Air DH Invitational require advanced registration. Registration will be available online beginning May 7 and closes August 7 at 5pm (unless sold out earlier).
  • Run Bike Races, Scavenger Hunt, Speedster Time Trials and Clif Skills Zone Pump Track Daily Sessions are FREE. Registration for these events will be onsite. See each event for registration and activity times.

Does my kid need pre-approval to race in any events?

Racers for B-Line Downhill in the 7 – 8 year old category, and the Enduro in the 7 – 8 year old category racing for the first time require pre-approval to compete. Children in existing DFX Club programs or recent riders in DFX Daily or Adventure Camp programs can ask their coach to confirm their suitability for this event.  If your child has not ridden the Whistler Bike Park in a lesson but would still like to race, please contact Carly Fox at kidsworx@crankworx.com

Why is the Air DH Kidsworx invitational an invite only event? How can I get my kid to participate?
For safety and insurance reasons, we have limited this race to an invitational format in order to select participants that we know can clear comfortable all the features in A-Line with speed, in a race format. Previous competitive Downhill racing experience is required. If you think your child has the ability to race in this event, please contact our Kidsworx Supervisor Carly Fox at kidsworx@crankworx.com

What Protective Equipment is required for my child?

Bike helmets are mandatory for all events. Some events require full face helmets. Body armor can be rented from G1 rentals besides Guest Relations in Whistler Village. Children’s gloves can be purchased from Garbanzo Bike and Bean, Summit Sports and G1 rentals.

Kidsworx Enduro– Full Face helmet on timed sections, open face helmet permitted for transitions.  Chest armor, elbow pads, knee pads and gloves are mandatory

Kidsworx XC – Bike Helmet and gloves are mandatory, we recommend knees and elbows be covered

B-Line– Full Face helmet, chest armor, elbow pads, knee pads and gloves are all mandatory

BMX– Full face helmet and gloves are mandatory, elbows and knees must be covered

Dirt Pump Track Challenge & Clinic – Full face helmet and gloves are mandatory, elbows and knees must be covered

Do I need a lift ticket for the Bike Park?

A Bike Park Pass is required for the Enduro and B-Line races. A Bike Park Training Pass is required if they would like to train before race day.  Seasons Pass holders do not require an additional pass.

Parents and Guardians will be able to purchase a discounted training and race day pass or discounted sightseeing pass to escort their child on foot to the start of their race. These tickets can ONLY be purchased at the Kidsworx Registration Centre.

All other Kidsworx events do not require a Bike Park lift ticket.

Where are the kids going to be riding?

The course outline and location for each event will be confirmed and posted online on the Kidsworx Event Page.

How do I get to each of the event locations?  Is there parking available?

Whistler has multiple parking options, some is paid parking and some is free parking. More information on parking can be found at https://www.whistler.ca/services/transportation/parking

The BMX race is at Cheakamus Crossing, 9 km south of Whistler Village. Parking is available on Jane Lakes road, by the BMX race track.

I would love to volunteer to help with some of the events, can I get involved?

Yes please!!! We need all the help we can get and if you have any time available to help with the events we would love to have you on board. Volunteers get loads of perks as well as front row seats to the action.  Check out the Volunteer page to sign up.

My kid is a shredder but I don’t ride the Bike Park.  How do I get them to the start of their race?

Children 12 years and under need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the start of the B-Line race and the Enduro stage in the Bike Park.  A parent/guardian pass will be available to purchase at the Kidsworx Registration Centre. If your child is in a DFX program and the whole class is participating in B-Line, you may be able to have a coach escort them to the start of the race.

Where do I pick up my race plate?

The Kidsworx Registration Centre will be open for plate pick up starting the week before the Festival.  You will be able to purchase Bike Park Race Day and Training tickets, ONLY at plate pick up.

Hours and pick up location will be updated in July and found on the Kidsworx Registration page.

Can I register for events after the Online Registration period has ended?

Yes, with space permitting.  If you would like to register for any additional events you will be able to do so at the Kidsworx Registration Centre when you collect your race plate.  Registration will not be available within 48 hours of competition. Day-of registration will not be available. Please note that many events will sell out quickly so register early!
