Volunteer for one of Whistler’s most exciting events

Crankworx Whistler returns with ten jam-packed days of gravity mountain bike this August

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 8, 2016 Whistler, BC – The world’s top gravity-mountain biking athletes descend on Whistler once more this summer for ten days of premier mountain bike competitions, and volunteers are needed to make it all happen.

This August 12-21, the Crankworx World Tour culminates in a competition showdown, with kids’ events, an exhibition of the latest technology and gear, and the beloved two-night videography and photography showcase Dirt Diaries and the Samsung Deep Summer Photography Challenge.

“Our community’s dedication is what makes the Crankworx experience possible. Thankfully, the industry is generous enough to help us reward the efforts put forth with some really great prizes, but at the end of the day, we know the majority of people who get involved step up because they’re dedicated to building the Crankworx community,” says Darren Kinnaird, Crankworx General Manager.

Crankworx is the defining celebration of world-class mountain biking. It travels to Rotorua and New Zealand, Les Gets, France, but it all got started right here in Whistler, B.C. Bringing all the moving parts together to keep its edge and taking the home base festival to the next level each year takes an army of volunteers, and the event needs you to come out and make it all happen.

“This is a chance to get a front-row seat to the action, meet the athletes, connect with those who love mountain biking, and help invest in building our sport,” says Kinnaird.

Nearly 400 people volunteered for Crankworx Whistler in 2015. Shifts range from two to eight hours, and a preliminary schedule is due for release mid-month, nearly a month in advance of the festival.

At the end of every festival, Crankworx hosts a volunteer appreciation night, shares prizes from the sponsors and exhibitors, and gives away a new GIANT mountain bike.

Jobs include:

The minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old, although those under 18 years old are required to submit a waiver by a parent or guardian.

Fill in the volunteer application form on Crankworx.com NOW and get ready to join the fun this August 12 – 21, 2016. You will be contacted by the Crankworx Volunteer Manager within four days of submitting your application.
