We’re rolling forward with a massive double-header to wrap Crankworx Rotorua. First up, the Crankworx Rotorua Downhill hits the dirt with Pro Women and Men dropping in from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Next on the docket, the Crankworx Rotorua Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza goes live on Red Bull TV and crankworx.com at 3:30 p.m. The rain threw us for a loop yesterday, today, we’re giving it our best shot.

See below for some of the best spots to watch all the action go down!

Day 1 – Saturday, March 17

Event: Giant Toa Enduro Presented by Camelbak
Location: Waipa, Whakarewarewa Forest
Spectating: Race trails will be released 48 hours before the event. Riders will be spread throughout the forest, so head out and watch them race from the trails. This event will start and finish at the Waipa event hub where an MC will keep you updated on the racing, with a stage set up and entertainment.

Day 2 – Sunday, March 18 *free event

Event: Redwoods Downhill
Location: Waipa, Whakarewarewa Forest
How to get there: From Waipa Carpark ride or walk down the Verry Safe Trail down to Eight Mile Gate Rd. From there follow the forestry road (Hill Rd) to the event hub.
Spectating: Head up the Taniwha Trail (also known as the National Downhill) to watch the riders race down or hang out and cheer them on through the finish line.

Day 3 – Monday, March 19 *free event

Event: The Professionals Rotorua National Schools Cross Country Championships
Location: Waipa, Whakarewarewa Forest
Spectating: Hang out at the finish corral at the Waipa event hub or head out to the forest to watch them on the trails.

Day 4 – Tuesday, March 20 *free events

Event: The Professionals Rotorua Nationals Schools Team Relay Championships
Location: Waipa, Whakarewarewa Forest
Spectating: Head out into the Whakarewarewa Forest and watch riders from the trails.

Event: 100% Dual Slalom Rotorua
Location: Wattles, Tokorangi Forest, Tarawera Road

Spectating: Watch from the big screen or find your favourite viewing spot along the track. There is plenty of space for everyone to get up-close viewing.

Day 5 – Wednesday, March 21 *free for locals with proof of address and ID

Location: Skyline Rotorua – Gates open at 10 a.m.
How to Get There:
Bike – bike parking available on site (BYO lock)

Bus – Cityride buses

Event: The Professionals Rotorua National Schools Downhill Championships
Spectating: Hang out at the The Professionals Rotorua Grandstand for the best seats in the house.

Event: Crankworx Rotorua Air DH
Spectating: Station yourself at the Mr Black road gap jump, follow the trail up and find your favourite spot, or watch all the action from the big screen in the Skyline Rotorua event village.

Day 6 – Thursday, March 22 *free for locals with proof of address and ID

Location: Skyline Rotorua – Gates open at 10 a.m.
Event: Rockshox Rotorua Pump Track Challenge presented by Torpedo 7
Spectating: For the best views, take a seat on the hill surrounding the Pump Track.

Day 7 – Friday, March 23

Location: Skyline Rotorua – Gates open at 10 a.m.
Event: Mons Royale Dual Speed and Style
Spectating: Head up on the hill around the track to find your favourite viewing spot.

Event: The Official Oceania Whip Off Championships presented by SPANK
Spectating: The best viewing spots are up on the hill or in front of the big screen.

Day 8 – Saturday, March 24

Event: Rotorua Deep Summer Photo Competition
Location: Eat Streat
Spectating: Come down and hang out at one of the neighbouring bars, or relax on the heated floors of Eat Streat.

Day 9 – Sunday, March 25

Event: Crankworx Rotorua Downhill
Location: Skyline Rotorua – Gates open at 10 a.m.
Spectating: Best places to watch include The Professionals Rotorua Grandstand, Fat Mans Root, Larches, Woodyard, End Jump (Saturn jump)

Event: Crankworx Rotorua Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza
Location: Skyline Rotorua – Gates open at 10 a.m.
Spectating: This event is all about the big tricks. Follow the track up and find your favourite feature to watch, or hang out near the finish line and watch them all on the big screen.

Wednesday, March 21

Location: SoBar
Details: DJ Ayesha 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. PLUS Crankworx drink specials for the whole week of Crankworx

Location: Pig and Whistle
