WHEN TO EXPECT ACCREDITATION CONFIRMATION
We will begin reviewing applications mid-January. Once a week all the media accreditation applications are collated and reviewed, it may take up to seven days for a response.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DO?
In order to cover certain events, you will need to provide proof of Public Liability Insurance. Please review the details here:
If you are accepted for media accreditation, you will be sent an approval email with an attached Media Rights Form and a Health and Safety Form. Please review them. You will be asked to sign them when you pick up your media accreditation. You will also receive the Skyline Rotorua Drone Policy to review.
WHAT DOES MEDIA ACCREDITATION GIVE ACCESS TO?
Media accreditation for the event offers event passes, access to the media tent, media goodie bags, wifi, refreshments and Destination Rotorua hosts who can tell you everything you need to know about the city. You’ll also get briefings on media areas for various events and access to media shuttles where required. Please note accreditation does not give VIP access.
MEDIA NZ EXPLORE PASS
Tourism New Zealand, as the government agency responsible for marketing New Zealand as a visitor destination, also provides information and support to ensure you get the best out of your visit to the country. If you’re international media you can apply for a Tourism New Zealand Explore Pass for discounts on a wide range of NZ accommodation and experiences: http://media.newzealand.com/en/explore-programme-for-media-visiting-new-zealand/. Applications will be assessed by Tourism New Zealand and, if successful, can take three weeks to process, so plan this well in advance.
