Combining elements of Dual Slalom and Slopestyle, Speed & Style challenges athletes to out-race and out-trick their opponent in this head-to-head format.
Two riders race against each other and try to make it to the finish as quickly as possible while performing the most stylish run. The winner is calculated based on their speed, with additional points awarded for style.

FORMAT & RULES
Qualifications (Seeding Run): 2 runs, all riders racing the same course, with Speed and Style. Best run, based on run time and Time Bonus Deductions, counts.
Round of 32 and Finals use a double-elimination format with one run on each course. The winner of these head-to-head heats is chosen based on the rider’s time and performance on the features, or their tricks.
16 riders will advance to the Finals in the live broadcast
Time Bonus Deduction
Each course will have two identical judged features/jumps. A Time Bonus Deduction will be available per each feature (maximum Time Bonus Deduction is 1.5 seconds/jump). Tricks will be worth a percentage of the total available Time Bonus Deduction, based on trick difficulty. The maximum differential for the timed portion of the race will be 3.5 seconds. A rider will not have a time higher than this amount and will still have their tricks subtracted from this maximum. If both competitors are tied after the second run the competitor who wins the second run advances to the next round
Course is built in Skyline Rotorua Gravity Park
The course will accommodate both Pro Men and Pro Women.
