A Crankworx classic, started in 2004 and still going strong, this is a downhill race for the bold, brave and borderline masochistic. Starting from the top of Garbanzo Chair, 1180 metres above Whistler Village, the seven-kilometre descent links a series of iconic Whistler Bike Park trails and some of its most aggressive terrain, including Original Sin with its steep rock rolls, In Deep’s inimitable, rooty gnar and Longhorn’s signature speed-boosting berms. An average DH race sees competitors charge for 3-5 minutes. An average podium topping Garbo time? Between 12 and 14 minutes. The Garbanzo DH is a true test of downhill stamina and supremacy.

Full-face helmet (Any certified 1 or 2-piece helmet) is mandatory.

Elbows/Forearms, Knee/Shin, Spinal/shoulder protection, neck brace and full finger gloves are highly recommended
