For those who’ve been following Crankworx slopestyle action in recent years, Tommy G likely needs little introduction. Thomas Genon took Crankworx by storm in 2012, winning the biggest event in the mountain biking world: Red Bull Joyride. His two-wheeled story started when he was three-years-old, but truly progressed to the next level when he began racing slalom at nine. His first taste of Crankworx competition came in Les 2 Alpes in 2012: “It was crazy to compete against some of my idols.“ Unbeknownst to him at that time, he was just weeks away from besting these same idols and standing atop the podium above them all as he took the win at Red Bull Joyride. Despite the magnitude of that moment, he says his favourite Crankworx memory to date was taking second place in Red Bull Joyride in 2016, a competition which fell on August 21, his birthday.
