packAll-Mountain FREERIDE

Around hairpin turns and over loose rocks...
Off stumps, roots and slick granite...

There isn't a single inch of the mountain you won't ride. CamelBak's new All-Mountain Freeride packs are designed to carry your full-face helmet and armor on the way up, so you can let loose on the way down.

2010 Date TBA
The big new event for 2009 – this is the ultimate all-mountain challenge. A chunk of peddling, a dash of tactics, a bucket of speed mixed up with some good luck and you have the ingredients for this mountain mayhem called the Canadian Open Enduro. A mass start event will see riders peddle on flats, uphill and jockey for position before they hit the haul-ass DH leading to the valley.

format
One run - mass start based on individual categories (not a Le Mans style start. Racers will be assigned to start rows by random draw). Full face helmets mandatory.

Course Start will be above the top of Garbanzo. Mixture of short climbs, high speed open sections, and technical riding sections. Approximately 3800 vertical feet of descending and 400-500 climbing / pedaling. DH sections will be designed for 6+6 bikes. Total time will be 25+ minutes for the fastest riders.

Proposed course (subject to some minor modifications): northwest corner of Chic Pea heading north (slightly up hill) on mountain road -> clockwise lap of Chic Pea (tight, no riding up Whiskey Jack) -> down Orange Peel Road -> enter Original Sin -> exit O-Sin at Pony Trail Road -> left turn on Bear Cub Connector -> up Bear Cub -> down New Joke (upper section) to Jimmy's -> down Freight Train to Wild Card switchbacks-> down Highway 86 to No Joke singletrack section -> all lines from Raven's Nest to Containers are open (except Freight Train) -> exit at Containers -> up In Deep -> exit and down Little Alders -> up Expressay to Containers -> down Duffman -> hard right at Golden Triangle -> up to Easy Does It -> down Easy Does It -> exit at Crabapple Corners -> down Crabapple ski run (Crabapple Corners taped wide) -> down Samurai Pizza Cat -> up Main and Old Oly Roads to exit of Smoke and Mirrors -> traverse ski run (taped with 2 -3 turns) -> down Old Whistler DH -> exit at Autobahn -> down to exit to Joyride -> back on ski trail to Main Road -> up Main Road to first bench only -> down to Double Vision to finish
