 deep summer photo challenge6 Photographers – 3 Days – 1 Epic Slide Show Event An impressive roster of 6 renowned invited photographers and an illustrious judging panel were the basis for yet another NEW event for ’09. Each of the invited professional photographers teamed up with athletes of their choice and were unleashed on the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and Whistler X/C trails to capture the action in the prime of summer. They had 3 days to shoot, edit and compile a slide show to impress the judges… and all of us as we gathered for the big night finale at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on August 12, 2009. The pressure and prestige was on with $6,000 prize money and a huge career boost on the line. And here are the results:
 MATTIAS FREDRIKSSON is probably associated most often with skiing, however he got his start shooting mountain biking over 15 years ago. The Swede has been a well-respected photographer for many years and his work is published throughout the world. He's a senior photographer for Powder Magazine and Canada's SBC Skier.  DAN BARHAM originally from Manchester, UK, but is now living on Vancouver's North Shore, Dan shoots mountain bike photography worldwide for numerous editorial and commercial clients across the globe, and currently enjoys a position as one of Bike Magazine's select few Senior Photographers.  HAROOKZ At a very young age, I eliminated the following from my vocabulary: "should have, would have, could have". This mindset enabled me to transform my dream of having fun for the rest of my life into reality, avoiding the contamination of a repetitive 9-5 schedule. Now I'm very grateful to still be hanging out with my best friends... riding, traveling and sniping stills as a career.
