Double Back Flip
We’ve only seen one ever landed in the history of the event. At Crankworx 2008 Andreu Lacondeguy stuck this super risky trick in his final run to win gold.

Back Flip
The name says it all. Look for riders to crank them bigger, slower and all tweaked in 2010. Variations include the one-footed X-up back flip and the corked back flip, basically an off-axis version.

720
We haven’t seen too many 720s in Crankworx past, so when they go down it’s a big deal - two complete, ridiculous revolutions of the bike and rider.

Front Flip
One of the gnarliest maneuvers on this list. It requires the perfect jump and major commitment - riders are totally blind until the landing. Big kahunas like Paul Basagoitia and Lance McDermott now regularly throw this super dangerous trick into their arsenal.

X-Up
A common style accoutrement where riders turn their bars 180 degrees mid jump. Longer you hold it, the more points you score.

Bar Spin
One step beyond the X-Up, riders spin their bars 360 degrees while airborne. Miss the grab when the bars come back around and it’s time to start thinking shish kabob.

Tail Whip
Instead of spinning the bars 360, riders spin the bike 360. Look for tech variations like the Super Whip - a tail whip with legs extended horizontally in a Superman pose.

Double Tail Whip
Same as the tail whip, except the bike goes around twice instead of once. It’s a super difficult trick and requires significant air and big time commitment.

One-Footed X-Up Back Flip
You guessed it, a back flip with an X-up, one foot tossed off the pedal for added burl factor.

360 Tail Whip
A highly technical move that has riders mixing a 360 and a tail whip in one air.

Superseater
Riders throw their legs out behind the bike and grab hold of the seat with one hand, the other hand still holding the handlebar.

Flat Spin 360 and 720
A 360 (or if you're crazy, 720) that's all tweaked, where both bike and rider rotate on more of a horizontal plane than a vertical one. Last year Andreu Lacondeguy won the VW Trick Showdown contest by throwing in an Indian Air seat grab with his flat spin. Outrageous.

No Handed Can
Throwing a Can Can (kicking both legs out to the side of the bike while airborne) and letting go of the handlebars at the same time. Think flying squirrel impersonation.
