2009's event brought out double tailwhips, flipwhips, and the winning move, Andreu Lacondeguy's mind-shattering Indian Air seat grab flat spin 360. A mouthful? Sure. But wait until you see it. With 24 of the world's best slopestyle riders invited to participate, and a rider judged two-line jam format, the VW Trick Showdown has but one purpose: drive riders to bend the known universe of mountain bike possibility.

Format
24 invited Slopestyle athletes compete in this rider judged “best trick” format event
2 Sessions of 45 minutes on pre-selected course features
- Session 1 Feature: Feature 5 (above Judges' Tower)
- Session 2 Feature: Kokanee Kicker (final feature)

2:30pm - 4:15pm Training (best trick zones only)
4:30pm Best Trick Session 1 (45 minutes) – LIVE WEBCAST
5:30pm Best Trick Session 2 (45 minutes) – LIVE WEBCAST
7:00pm Slopestyle Finals selections announced
(6 athletes advance to Saturday finals)


Prize Money - $8,000
$3,000 winner-takes-all for best trick on each feature
As a little bonus to the pros for pushing the limits, our host announcer, Brad Ewen will have his fist full with $1,000 cash at each feature for riders who throw down.

2010 Invitational List
A total of 24 athletes will be invited to the VW Trick Showdown based on the following criteria:
  • Top 8 from 2009 Monster Energy Slopestyle
  • Top 10 from Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour ranking as of Sunday, August 1, 2010 (right after Crankworx Colorado Slopestyle) http://fmbworldtour.com/2010/ranking-results/
  • 6 Wildcard spots – Announced by August 2, 2010
