Join 20,000+ feverish fans as the action and entertainment builds to electric levels. Watch freeriding’s biggest stars put it all on the line, with huge airs, jaw-dropping stunts and tricks that seem implausible at best. Two massive big screens cover all the action and a live webcast with hundreds of thousands watching around the world. Just like last year, and the year before that, this will be the most epic mountain bike event in the history of all things.

Format

  • 16 athletes
  • Best of 2 runs
  • Head judge to oversee judging panel to allocate a score out of 100
  • Top 6 riders advance to Super-Finals
  • One Run Super-Final – reverse order seeding (final ranking will be based on best score from either Run 1, Run 2 or Super-Final (ie Super-Final can only advance a rider's final ranking)

2010 Invitation List
A total of 24 athletes will be invited to the VW Trick Showdown and Monster Energy Slopestyle Qualifiers (August 12) based on the following criteria:
  • Top 8 from 2009 Monster Energy Slopestyle
  • Top 10 from Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour ranking as of Sunday, August 1, 2010 (right after Crankworx Colorado Slopestyle)
  • 6 Wildcard spots – Announced by August 2nd
    Note: If there is any overlap, between 2009 results and FMB World Tour rankings, more athletes will be selected from the FMB World Tour ranking.
A total of 10 Athletes will be automatically qualified for The Monster Energy Slopestyle on August 14 (i.e. not required to participate in Qualifying). These athletes are automatically qualified based on the following criteria:
  • Top 6 from 2009 Monster Energy Slopestyle
  • Top 4 from Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour ranking as of Sunday, August 1, 2010 (right after Crankworx Colorado Slopestyle)
    Note: If there is any overlap, between 2009 results and FMB World Tour rankings, more athletes will be selected from the FMB World Tour ranking
