2008 events

DUAL SLALOM
The riders wanted it, so we delivered it: Dual Slalom, head-to-head high speed action old school style.

MONSTER ENERGY GARBANZO DOWNHILL
It started way up at the tippy top of the Whistler Bike Park and went down forever. This year's epic enduro downhill challenged both World Cup and local riders against 3,400 vertical feet of roots, rocks and muchos grande air... fingers cramped, eyes watered, and brake pads were smokin' like a bush fire.

KEN QUON CROSS COUNTRY
New for 2008, the event featured family fun, excitement and competitive challenge with 3 different riding events all at the same time: a 'traditional' family ride on the wide Lost Lake trails, a WORCA 'Loonie' type ride and the RE/MAX Corridor Cup Challenge - a 2 member team event challenging the best of the best.

WOMENZWORX presented by SOMBRIO
Two days of female freeride activities, designed for everyone from the new rider to the expert.

JIM BEAM AIR DH
The Venue? The world's most famous freeride downhill trail, the iconoclastic A-Line - the standard by which all other trails are measured. So measure this: 200 of the world's best riders, nearly 100 jumps, game on for Air Downhill gold: bermin', airin', rippin', full stop giviner.

VW TRICK SHOWDOWN
We amplified the Zenith of all things Dirt & Down with Best Trick. New for 2008, the VW Trick Showdown challenged the world's top slopestyle athletes to push the limits of aerial ingenuity on two massive features in Whistler's famed Boneyard.

GIANT SLALOM
2 racers. 2 runs. Infinite adrenaline. Yet another new event, the GIANT Slalom course featured head-to-head action as two riders raced down two jump-infused tracks through the Boneyard at the same time.

KIDSWORX
Kids 6-10 manoeuvred through actual biketrials sections while mom, dad, granny and gramps cheered them on!

TRIALSWORX
One of the most spectator friendly bike sports over some of the most difficult terrain in Whistler.

MONSTER ENERGY SLOPESTYLE @ Kokanee Crankworx
20,000 fans. The best slopestyle riders in the world, and a custom built Boneyard at the base of the Whistler Bike Park created for the sole purpose of off-road evolution = the perfect venue for riders like 2008's champion Andreu Lacondeguy to serve up a tray of constantly one-upped, air packaged goods.

CANADIAN OPEN DH presented by KONA
One of the world's premier downhill mountain biking events!
