| 8:30pm 'til late, Saturday August 7, 2010 - Skier's Plaza & the GLC
Kokanee Crankworx gets kick-started with a community launch party to celebrate the biggest mountain bike festival on the planet. The Block Party takes place in Skiers Plaza, and for 2010 we are going retro to celebrate the 10th anniversary of New World Disorder 1 – the epic movie that has built the franchise like no other in the world of freeride mountain bike. Before Crankworx, before the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, Derek Westerlund and his crew of riders starting capturing the raw energy that has year after year, captured a segment of mountain biking that we all live and breath for. Let’s roll back the time machine and watch this old classic, plus we are going to also see some behind the scenes footage, interviews from some of the original crew and we’ll also have a few surprises. Post premiere, stick around for Damage Inc http://www.damageinc.net/. Cover charge is $5.00 at the door.
The Block Party is an all-ages FREE event and we’ll be throwing out some prizes too. We’ll be turning on both of our massive big screens and the sound system to show NWD to make a very unique outdoor theatre setting – watch from the Skier’s Plaza or park yourself in the Boneyard to kickback and reminisce. For those of the 19+ age set, the Garibaldi Lift Company will be also carrying the feed of the show and will have a full night of entertainment after the movie. You can come join the NWD gang and toast a few cold glacier fresh Kokanee.

"When we first embarked on the New World Disorder series, Freeriding was just taking off. The scene was just about to explode and we were in the thick of it! We risked everything we had in the world to make the first film. It was our mandate to step up the quality of film production and the level of riding for the sport of mountain biking.10 years later......I am pretty sure we have succeeded!
The New World Disorder took over 2 years to make. When it finally dropped, it helped revolutionize the sport. The film brought the fringe side of the sport together with the core of the mountain bike scene. It created something new and exciting for everyone in extreme sports.
For me, there are a lot of great memories! For you,it is some of the best mountain biking ever captured on film. Ground breaking moments from the best riders in the world.

"Enjoy it!"
