The last leg of the Canadian Cup Cycling Series, the Canadian Open XC, will take to the Whistler trails once more in 2016, wrapping up its season at Crankworx. Competitors will plough through a fast and challenging cross-country circuit, racing for coveted points to see the Canada Cup Cycling Series Champions crowned at the conclusion of the event. A UCI-sanctioned race, past winners have included Olympic medallist Marie-Hélène Prémont, Olympian Emily Batty, and current national team members Sandra Walter, Raphael Gagné, Derek Zandstra, Mikaela Kofman and Jean Ann Berkenpas (McKirdy).



Event Information & Formats

Registration. Pre-registration (online) is mandatory . Deadline August 17, 15h00 PST.

Licences: Only Elite and Junior Expert UCI license holders can register in the Elite and Junior Expert categories.
UCI points are only available for Elite Men/Women, Junior, Expert Men/Women, UCI licence holders.

Non Elite and unlicensed riders can sign up in the Amateur age classes.

Course: new course on Blackcomb Mountain - designed with a mix of technical single track as well as double track climbing to allow for adequate passing.

Course is the same route at the June 2016 BC Championships - but there have been several new features added since that race. Pre riding is strongly encouraged.



Lap totals for the Elite and Junior Experts will be confirmed following the course inspection by the UCI commissaires.

Kidsworx 10 – 12 age group: – 1 full lap
Youth Women 13 – 18: 2 laps
Senior Women (19+): 3 laps
Youth Men 13 – 16: 3 laps
Junior Amateur Men 17 – 18: 4 laps
Senior Men 19 – 29: 5 laps
Master Men 30 – 39: 5 laps
Veteran Men 40+: 4 laps
